What is Laser Profiling?
Laser profiling is a technology that uses a Fibre Laser, to cut and profile a variety of different materials. Laser Cutting works by directing the output of a high-powered laser through an optic, onto a material. This is controlled by a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Programme, which directs the laser beam onto the required material. Our Laser Cutting Service enables us to provide clients with a fast and efficient supply of highly accurate profiled parts, due to our continued investment in state-of-the-art fibre laser cutting machinery. Our advanced software ‘nesting’ application optimises parts cut out of sheet material, so that scrap is minimised, enabling us to offer significant cost-savings to our clients. Teams of dedicated professionals work with customers on both, small prototype jobs, and larger batch productions.
We operate a Bystronic ByCut Star 3015 6KW Fibre Laser. This allows us to profile a variety of sheet metal materials, in an array of thicknesses and sizes. Our Fibre Laser can process sheets up to a maximum of 3000 x 1500mm, with a maximum work weight of 1550KG. Our system is fully automated, and loading is made easy by our Bystronic ByTrans Auto Loader. Investment in this system allows batch sheet cutting, helping to reduce customers costs, and reduce lead times. To view our maximum thicknesses, please see the included information. Fibre Laser cutting is usually used to profile ferrous and non-ferrous sheet metals. Our Bystronic Laser cuts the following materials:
Mild Steel – 25mm
Stainless Steel – 30mm
Aluminium – 30mm
Brass – 15mm
Copper – 12mm
