Seminars, workshops, hundreds of exhibitors and international pavilions, the Build Show 2017 has it all. But with so much going on, how do you choose which events to attend and which to put on hold?
From the spot line, here at stand B570, we wanted to give you a brief overview of the things we think you must not miss in the upcoming days and help you find your way around the show more easily.
What’s on?
There are six stages to benefit from during this years’ Build Show, all hosting some of the leading professionals within the construction sector, addressing some of the most pressing issues within the industry.
Information on how to tackle skill shortages and respond to the rapid pace of the construction industry, Brexit and the uncertainty surrounding the global economy at the moment can be found at 10:35am on the 11th October at the UKCW stage. The seminar is then followed by equally as interesting topical discussions, such as whether construction can deliver results without Government intervention at 11:45am, how drones would affect the future of construction and what’s new in drone technology at 12:30pm and more.
More information about the hot topic of how Brexit would impact the sector is to follow on the next day with a talk about what is required to build 1 million homes by 2020 and rebuilding Britain’s infrastructure whist exiting the EU, at 10:35am.
An absolute essential in our opinion is the seminar on best practice when it comes to increasing profitability through collaboration at 11:30am. From Crossrail to building, the hour long seminar will give you the practical and proven methods of recognised industry experts from organisations such as Costain, AECOM, RICS and more.
However, while the UKCW stage does hold the pinnacle of the seminars on the day, do stay on the look-out of what’s going on during the rest of the show. Some of our favourite talks include:
Powering Midlands Growth: a Roadmap to delivery at 13:35pm, Development and Regeneration Hub – 11th October
Discovering the development plans for future roads, rail, cycle paths, as well as the opportunity for commercial and mixed-use floor space to be created.
Interserve presents BIM for operators, followed by Maximising the benefits of the BIM process at 11:00am, BIM Prospects Theatre Brought to You by BRE – 11th October
Looking at building information bridges between capital delivery and operational maintenance of built assets.
Tearing Down Walls – how to turn your project into best in class at 10:30am, BIM Prospects Theatre Brought to You by BRE – 12th October
Providing information on how to supply information to clients throughout the project life cycle, while obtaining structured data from supply chain.
